Artist: Adam Parsons
Size: 9" round
Pieces: 143
Difficulty: Moderate

This is not a cardboard puzzle.
143 pieces of premium laser-cut wood — each one thick, tactile, and shaped like something from Colorado's wild landscape. Bicycles. Wildflowers. Birds. Butterflies. Every whimsy piece is hand-drawn and unlike anything you'll find in a cardboard box. And some of them? They flip.

The Chronicles of Boulder
This circular wooden puzzle invites you into the heart of Colorado's wild beauty, where mountain peaks, winding trails, and vibrant nature intertwine beneath the watchful gaze of a great horned owl. At the center, the owl carries a landscape of the Flatirons and mountain skies within its chest — like a living map of the region itself.

Deep forest tones, bright alpine colors, and intricate linework create a puzzle experience that feels both grounding and adventurous, piece by piece.

A puzzle within the puzzle.
What makes The Chronicles of Boulder truly unlike anything else is its reversible center. The owl assembles as its own standalone mini puzzle — then flips to reveal natural wood grain, transforming the entire finished piece. Certain whimsy pieces like the bicycles are symmetrical and reversible too, so every builder finishes with something uniquely their own.

One puzzle. Two completely different experiences. Infinite ways to finish.

This is a collector's piece. Frame it, display it, keep it.

Arrives in a keepsake box worthy of a Tiffany's unboxing.

About the Artist
Adam Parsons is a Welsh-born surrealist artist with a career spanning three decades and four countries. Born in Wales in 1971, he moved to Japan in 1991 where he was awarded Best New Illustrator at Tokyo-Ten in 1995 before eventually making his home in the United States.

His work is deeply rooted in emotion and surreality — he describes his process as painting in two stages: first an instinctive base layer, then a web of lines that search for meaning and connection. Influenced by Dalí, Basquiat, and HR Giger, Adam's style straddles the line between the natural and the otherworldly.

That tension is exactly what makes his vision of Boulder's wild landscape feel so alive — familiar and dreamlike all at once.
